Obama Stimulus Package Is Destroying Jobs

The Examiner was right to protest President Barack Obama’s firing of inspector general Gerald Walpin after he exposed wrongdoing by prominent Obama supporter Kevin Johnson, and uncovered millions of dollars in waste and fraud in the troubled AmeriCorps program.

The Obama Administration is tripling spending on AmeriCorps. It wants Johnson, despite his wrongdoing, to be able to oversee federal “stimulus” spending. That violates Obama’s promise to carefully monitor every stimulus dollar.

Obama falsely claimed that the stimulus package was needed to prevent “irreversible decline.” But the Congressional Budget Office says that the stimulus package will actually shrink the economy “in the long run.” The stimulus has destroyed thousands of jobs in America’s export sector. And it is paying for such wasteful items as new government buildings in cities such as Milwaukee that have empty municipal buildings and declining populations.
