Jobs report: Steadier hiring returns as construction and manufacturing rebound
CEI’s senior economist Ryan Young cited regarding June’s job report.
It comes as the economy has grown at a modest but steady pace since a small drop in last year’s first quarter. Propped up by consumer spending and massive investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure that have fueled construction, manufacturing and technology activity.
“The nice thing is we’re not in a recession, and barring any shocks, we will not be in one. The downside is I see tepid growth going forward. Even if we’re in this fragile stability, you have to get rid of the fragility for a real boom to come back,” said Ryan Young, senior economist at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
