About the Role

The Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Media Production Associate will assist the Senior Digital Manager and communications team in executing media production and digital strategy that promotes CEI’s policy work and advances CEI’s mission and goals. This position will assist CEI in managing its broadcast studio, producing various podcasts, and assist in the production of various policy videos. Additionally, the Media Production Associate will assist the marketing team with website management and managing CEI’s presence on various video platforms including, Youtube, Vimeo, and Instagram.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate CEI’s A/V studio, including the booking and running of live and recorded broadcasts and podcasts. 
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of CEI’s multimedia equipment, including but not limited to cameras, tripods, lighting, grips, and mounts. 
  • Shoot, edit, and release various CEI podcasts and video content. 
  • Draft scripts based on CEI’s policy work and help produce videos. 
  • Assist marketing team in managing CEI’s presence on various video platforms including, Youtube, Vimeo, and Instagram reels.
  • Assist the marketing team with website posting and management of CEI’s flagship website, cei.org, as needed. 
  • Assist the marketing team in filming and shooting various CEI events, which occasionally happen offsite and outside of normal business hours.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3 years of relevant work experience in studio management, video and podcast production, and/or editing experience. 
  • The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of experience in Adobe Premier and/or Adobe Creative Suite 
  • The ideal candidate will have a portfolio or examples of their video and audio editing work.
  • Strong writing, communications, and organizational skills required
  • A thorough understanding of the video and sound editing process and tools. 
  • A degree in or commensurate experience with the elements of style for videography and photography.
  • The capacity to juggle numerous multimedia projects
