Business report: Regulate the regulators

The Hill reports on Wayne Crews's report on calculating the true cost of government with a regulatory budget. 

The conservative Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) study released Tuesday calls for lawmakers to “shine a light” on the costs of regulations through a regulatory budget.

Crews gave a nod to efforts by House and Senate Republicans to create a regulatory budget.

“The out-of-control regulatory system is what really needs to be regulated,” said CEI Vice President Wayne Crews, who wrote the report.

"A regulatory budget is best suited to a constitutional republic rooted in limited government principles and congressional accountability, rather than an administrative state that operates largely without supervision,” he added.
