Chuck Schumer’s McCarthyite moment

New York Post reports on Democrat Senators attacking organizations that disagree with them on the climate change debate. 

The lawmakers accuse firms like ExxonMobil of working “to undermine mainstream scientific research” by donating to the think tanks. It all comes under a grand conspiracy theory dubbed #WebOfDenial.

But these are highly respected outfits: the Manhattan Institute, the Mercatus Center, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Reason Foundation, etc.

Few if any focus solely on climate change. Many don’t spend resources questioning the idea that human activity is contributing to global warming — but merely cast doubt on supposed “solutions” that would burn hundreds of billions of dollars, and destroy good jobs all across America, to put only the tiniest of dents in the problem.

Why risk their reputations and challenge “accepted” science on this one issue if they didn’t have honest concerns? Besides, since when is it a crime to question “accepted” science?
