Trump’s Fuel Economy Plan is a No Brainer – It Saves Money and Lives

Investor’s Business Daily cited Senior Fellow Marlo Lewis Jr. on the proposal to postpone Obama-era CAFE standards.

Obama’s rules would have required average mileage of 54.5 miles per gallon of gasoline by 2025 — as we said, an absurdly restrictive and costly rule. Instead of that, CAFE standards would rise to 43 mpg in 2020 and stay there until 2026.

“That represents a significant rollback in regulatory stringency,” notes Marlo Lewis Jr., a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
