Carbon tax proposals—often under stylized names such as “carbon dividends” or “carbon-funded tax cuts” to avoid the tax moniker—continue to garner attention, and several self-proclaimed “conservative” and “libertarian” organizations have recently been formed with the express purpose of promoting the concept. Expert panelists will provide an in-depth examination of the economics of taxing carbon dioxide emissions, the environmental potency of such policy, and various efforts to advance carbon tax on both the federal and state fronts.

Marlo Lewis, Jr., Senior Fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, will be speaking on a panel titled Carbon Tax: Conservative Solution or Climate Sophistry? as part of the State Policy Network’s Annual Meeting. SPN’s Annual Meeting is the leading conference in the freedom movement aimed at advancing state reforms that promote personal freedom, innovation, opportunity, and a more peaceful society in which all Americans can flourish.
