What is the proper role of copyright protection in our legal system? Is our current regime too restrictive or not protective enough of intangible property? Is copyright protected today as was contemplated by the Founders when they included it in the Constitution?

As Congress considers new ideas on copyright, America’s Future Foundation will host a panel featuring CEI Vice President Jim Harper that will debate the constitutional and philosophical underpinnings of intellectual property and copyright, and explore whether today’s copyright laws are excessive, not protective enough, and, above all, are in keeping with the Founding Fathers’ vision.
