Alexander Moens is a professor of Political Science at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, a Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute in the Centre for Canadian-American Relations, and a Fellow in the Canadian Defence and Foreign Affairs Institute in Calgary. He is also a member of the Canadian International Council’s Security and Strategy Group.

He is the author of The Foreign Policy of George W. Bush: Values, Strategy, Loyalty (Aldershot, Hampshire: Ashgate Publishing, 2004), and Foreign Policy Under Carter (Boulder: Westview Press, 1990) as well as several edited books on NATO and European security, and Canadian-American relations, most recently Immigration Policy and the Terrorist Threat in Canada and the United States (Vancouver: The Fraser Institute, 2008).

Moens has published in Canadian, American and European journals and newspapers. Recently published papers on Canada-US relations include Measuring Parliament’s Attitude Towards Canada-US Cooperation, 2009 and Skating on Thin Ice: Canadian-American Relations in 2010 and 2011,” Fraser Institute, Studies in Canada-U.S. Relations, April 2010.
