Trained as an industrial engineer, Terry spent the first 10 years of her career working for Unisys Corporation and EDS on various defense contracts for computer and weapon systems development. Because of her interest in politics, policy and individual liberty she made a dramatic career shift in 1997 going to work for Koch Industries Public Affairs Department as Manager of Systems Excellence. From there, she became Administrative Assistant to Congressman Chris Cox, managing both his Washington, DC and California offices. While on Capitol Hill, Terry also managed Political Action Committee (PAC) fundraising events for several members of Congress. Terry has extensive fundraising experience having worked as Director of Membership for the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses. Here she was responsible for membership recruitment and retention as well as raising money for their PAC. She also spent nearly three years as Director of Development at the Cato Institute. At Cato, her responsibilities included high dollar individual donors, foundations and planned giving. Terry is currently Vice President of Development at the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI). Founded in 1984, CEI is a non-profit public policy organization dedicated to the principles of free enterprise and limited government. Terry is a graduate of Grove City College, where she majored in Industrial Engineering. She and her husband, Matt, reside on Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
