America’s Economic Revival Has Been Based on Environmental Deregulation and Increased Energy Production

Tonight, President Trump delivered his State of the Union address from the well of the House Chamber at the U.S. Capitol, focusing on topics including energy policy and deregulation.

Director of CEI’s Center for Energy and Environment Myron Ebell said:

“The President made it clear that America’s economic revival has been based on environmental deregulation and increased energy production. Undoing President Obama’s climate agenda has given American manufacturers a huge energy price advantage. President Trump correctly observed that experts and political leaders agreed that manufacturing jobs were never coming back, but they are being proved wrong.

“Continuing economic growth based on deregulation and abundant energy cannot be taken for granted. Promoters of the Green New Deal and carbon taxes would take us back to economic stagnation by raising energy prices for consumers and producers.”
