CEI Response to EPA Greenhouse Gas Rule Published in Federal Register

Myon Ebell of the Competitive Enterprise Institute today responded to the EPA publishing greenhouse gas rules in the Federal Register:

“Publication in the Federal Register means that Congress can now vote to block the EPA's blatantly illegal and incredibly costly new greenhouse gas rules for power plants before the UN climate conference in Paris in December. Although President Obama can veto the bill, it is important for Congress to let the world know that the President's commitments to a new climate treaty are meaningless. The Senate will never ratify the Paris treaty, and Congress will never authorize funding to implement the President's promises. The stakes for American consumers are very high. If the EPA's power plant rules are not stopped by Congress or the courts, then President Obama will have kept his 2008 campaign pledge to make electric rates ‘skyrocket.’”
