CEI Statement on Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act

The House today passed the Common Sense Nutrition Disclosure Act (HR2017). CEI consumer policy expert Michelle Minton praised this common sense plan.

“The House voted today to ease the unreasonable regulatory burden imposed by the Affordable Care Act’s menu labeling mandate. Without some relief from this mandate, local non-chain restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, pizza shops, and even craft brewers will be hardest hit and face the threat of unnecessary criminal penalties. The Senate and the White House should recognize this truly is a common sense solution. CEI applauds the members of Congress who put partisan politics aside to support this common sense legislation.”
