Final gas stove rule an excuse for overregulation: CEI analysis
The Department of Energy has pushed back against criticism of its final gas stove rule, claiming that there is no reason to withdraw the rule. CEI Senior Fellow Ben Lieberman explains why this rule is just another excuse for excessive regulation:
“The final Department of Energy efficiency regulation for stoves is not nearly as bad as the version originally proposed last year, but it still offers no benefits to homeowners. In fact, the rule only saves gas stove owners an agency-estimated 21 cents per year. Regulators should have just left stoves alone.”
