Wisconsin Recall FAIL: This is What Democracy Looks Like

Washington, D.C., June 6, 2012 – As a result of the failure of labor union forces to recall the Wisconsin governor yesterday, taxpayers were the big winners, says CEI labor policy attorney, Vincent Vernuccio.

“In his speech last night, Gov. Scott Walker spoke of how he saw the Founding Father as heroes when he was younger, but that when he got older he realized they were ordinary men who took great risks to do what is right for their country,” said Vernuccio.

“Gov. Walker will forever stand as one of the men who took great political risks to do what is right,” Vernuccio continued. “Hopefully, the victory in Wisconsin will embolden other governors and state legislatures to stand up for taxpayers.”

Walker beat his opponent, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, by a 53 to 46 percent vote.
