A Skeptical Response to “Live Earth”

Washington, D.C., July 7, 2007—As millions of people prepare to enjoy the musical talents of their favorite bands at the seven-city “Live Earth” concert series, the Competitive Enterprise Institute is reminding those in the audiences around the world that the global warming alarmism being promoted by sponsors like Al Gore is not the whole truth. Short video responses to Gore's theories are now available on YouTube on the channel A Skeptic’s Guide.

“In Al Gore's book and film An Inconvenient Truth, the only facts and studies considered are those convenient to Gore's scare-them-green agenda,” said Competitive Enterprise Institute Senior Fellow Marlo Lewis. “In many instances, he distorts the evidence he cites. In fact, nearly every significant statement Gore makes regarding climate science and climate policy is either one sided, misleading, exaggerated, speculative, or wrong.”

With Gore as the chief global warming authority behind the Live Earth series, the information being disseminated at the various concert venues should be considered highly suspect. For a skeptical view of global warming alarmism, see Marlo Lewis’ detailed response to An Inconvenient Truth here.
