Success Of New Book Shows: Many Americans Don’t Believe Gloom And Doom Theories

Washington, D.C., January 14, 2003—The Competitive Enterprise Institute is celebrating the success of its latest book on environmental issues, Global Warming and Other Eco-Myths: How the Environmental Movement Uses False Science to Scare Us to Death (Prima Publishing 2002).  In just three months since its publication, the book is going into a second printing.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

Global Warming and Other Eco-Myths is the third book in CEI’s series countering the gloom and doom theories of traditional environmentalists.  It brings together more than a dozen experts, including Nobel laureate Dr. Norman Borlaug, founder of the “Green Revolution,” leading climatologist Dr. John Christy, and several CEI analysts, on issues ranging from global warming to the attack on plant biotechnology and the war against synthetic chemicals.  Ron Bailey, science correspondent with Reason magazine, is editor of the book.
