CEI Statement on Trump Labor Nominee Andrew Puzder Withdrawing His Nomination

Competitive Enterprise Institute labor policy expert Trey Kovacs commented on the decision by President Trump’s Labor Department nominee, Andrew Puzder, to withdraw his nomination:

“As the CEO of a successful franchise restaurant company, Andrew Puzder has a proven record as a job creator and understands that big government barriers are hurting job creators – two qualities that made him a great nominee for Secretary of Labor. President Trump’s next nominee should also be a champion for economic opportunity, red tape reduction, and policies that allow people to have flexible work and business arrangements. Our next Secretary of Labor should be committed to giving American businesses and workers the best opportunities to succeed and build economic security.”
